Structure and protection of a kiwi orchard
The trellis system used in this kiwi orchard provides the ideal support for the kiwi vines to grow, ensuring balanced training and an even distribution of foliage.
CASTLEDYNASTY chose CarmoFarm to carry out this 5-hectare project, located in Lau, Palmela. The solution implemented is based on a trellis-style structure, designed to meet the crop’s requirements and provide sturdy, long-lasting support.
The system is reinforced by anti-hail netting, which is essential for protecting the fruit against severe weather events, and by windbreaks, which improve the microclimate and reduce stress on the plants.
The combination of the structure and the protection systems helps to create more favourable conditions for crop growth, helping to reduce exposure to adverse weather conditions and ensuring greater security for production.
Covering a total area of 5 hectares, this project demonstrates the importance of adapting each facility to the specific characteristics of the farm, the crop and the land. From the structure to the protection systems, the various elements work together seamlessly to ensure stability, functionality and efficiency in the field.
With the CarmoFarm approach, the installation combines robustness, durability and efficiency, ensuring a productive system that is ready for the future.
